Kryolan Avant Garde FOTD:

Kryolan is a brand I've only recently become familiar with. It's relatively unheard of within the 'beauty makeup' industry, but start looking into special effects/theatre etc and you will see Kryolan products come highly recommended.
I recently recieved their 'Aquacolor' palette and although it's not a staple in my everyday kit, it definately has it's uses and is a great product to own :D

As you can see below the tin opens up into two seperate layers. Each layer contains 12 shade of Aquacolor and each seperate pan can be removed and rotated around the palette. This is useful if you know you are only going to use a few shades and want to keep them all next to each other for easy access.

It looks a lot like the paint sets you would use as a child and that's basically what it is really - very similar in texture and payoff, and just like paint it is activated by water. The major difference however being the Aquacolors are made for the makeup industry and are completely safe for use on the skin/face.

Although I have many other alternatives for this product that I usually reach for instead (Make Up For Ever Flash Color Case being my favourite - review coming soon!) it is a great item to invest in if you like playing with colour and dense payoff. I also love it for face painting and I'm sure I will be popular amongst my younger relatives, especially at halloween :D

Here's an Avant Garde look I created using primarily Aquacolors. The Peacock side was entirely made using this palette, although a little MAC Glitter was added on top of the blue and gold section. The Mermaid side had a small amount of the turquoise shade pushed into the skin as a base before MAC Aquadisiac shadow was placed on top. It holds up really well once set and this wore very well throughout the day :)

Shades used below were:
MAC Aquadisiac, Phloof!, Parrot and Unbasic White. The Glitter liner was made using 3D Silver glitter and mixing medium and the teal gems are from Make Up For Ever.

I loveee creative work like this :) x
